Slow Day

Today was all about rest and recuperation. Sleeping late, watching tv, it was all good. The past week with toddler here was most fun. We rode about 200 miles on the fourwheelers, took the Liberty on some of the trails, and saw some naked chics.

The weekly commitments have all been finished, now it's just the band and the day job. And i have to get back to my own "hank wood rehab". It's been almost 4 months since i was taking tons of prescription pain killers, now i have to work on not drinking at all. Working out and drinking coffee in the evenings seems to help, so we'll see how it goes!

Back at work, now i can rest.

Just got back from camping last night. It was a lot of fun but i was glad to come to work today so i could get some rest. Tonight i will try hitting on drunk chics at the fair. Toddler is going as my wingman, so when the ugly ones try to chat me up i will sacrifice him to them so i can focus on the good stuff. (nice, aren't I) Don't worry, i'm taking him to the strip club in Great Falls tomorrow night to make it up to him.

This weekend: a little yard work, get back into working out and doing the band thing.

Some of the questions were from the posts here on this board, some of them were sent to my email. Next time i answer some, i will post the questions also.

This week: a little time off from doing the band thing, which is good. I still have to put my 4 wheeler back together before toddler gets here this weekend to go camping. It looks like we will be playing somewhere every weekend of August, so a week of camping, riding, and hanging out at the fair should be fun. Now that i think about it, i'd bet todd has never been to a strip club........

That was fun.

Just got back from playing the street dance in great big Denton, Montana. It was rainy and windy, so we ended up playing inside Buddy's Bar. The place was packed, and the people were great. The bathroom was not so good, though. Someone, and there were quite a few who had apparently started early, honked all over the sink, wall, trash can, and floor of the men's restroom. It was NOT good. Right now, i'm laughing so hard thinking about it, but yet it almost makes me want to puke, now that i really think about it.......

1. I hope you are feeling better Uncle Howard, and

2. Hi Bridgette, Brittney, and Tiffany. It's nice to hear from you ladies again.

Here's some answers.

1. No, this is not a gay website. I'm not against gays, in fact i think they should be able to get married. That way they can hate each other just like most other married couples. There does happen to be a gay porn producer named hank wood, and the reviews of his work are quite good. I, however, don't plan on watching any of it.

2. I have no idea how a musician that died the year i was born emailed me from his grave in Louisiana. I hear they have electricity there now, so maybe they have broadband in the caskets, too. The song lyrics were quite interesting.

3. "bigin" is my cousin Sean's nickname. And no, he is not a sasquatch. He is tall, muscular, and has a great disposition. Luckily for me.

4. They do actually let me turn my guitar amp on, but i have to be the suckiest guitar player ever. really. I do have great stage presence, and luckily the other guys in the band are good enough to cover for me. My guitar is an Epiphone copy of a Gibson SG made of Korina Wood with a natural finish. My amp is a Marshall JCM 2000-DSL 401. It's an all tube amp with a sweet sounding overdrive channel. I don't use effects other than overdrive, just a volume pedal and a Boss tuner pedal. And by the way, Uncle Howard, barre chords were not devised by communists, so it's okay for you to learn them now.

5. No, i don't expect to get famous with my website and blog. My family and friends that i grew up with are 1300 miles away, this is just a good way to keep up with them.

time for a nap.

It's Friday!

Today i woke up with a headache, so i skipped work . It's 5pm now and i feel a little better, so i guess i better get up and do something. I finally had to go sleep in the living room this morning, lying on my water bed listening to the fish tank bubble kept making me think i needed to go pee. It turns out we don't have to play at the Eagles Club tonight, so i actually get a night off! For now, i'm going to go work out in the yard, and i'll answer some questions later tonight. I hope you are feeling better Uncle Howard!

Following up

Ok, i took care of all the personal emails last night and today, so a little bit of work here now. I'll get to the flying car part of the story in a minute. Last wednesday, i stopped by the eagle's club to have a drink after playing golf, when these two scuzzy looking guys come in with an anorexic, redheaded, hippie-type chic. she was decent looking, and she looked clean, but i still didn't hit on her when she talked to me. i was not afraid her scuzzy friends would beat me up, i was more afraid they had already been touching her. I didn't want to touch her, so i went home alone. again. but not until after i told the bartender that i over heard them mention her apartment number and that i thought they might be cooking meth. i was hoping she would call the cops on them. just for fun.

On thursday night, i'm at the eagles club again, setting up equipment since we were playing there on friday night. we did a sound check for about an hour, practiced a few new songs we are working on, and this guy comes walking up to the other side of the stage from me. i lean over and tell carl "that's one of the hippie dudes from last night, and he's wearing the same clothes!". (man am i glad i stayed away from that hippie chic) he proceded to talk to each of us, shake our hands, and say that he is a guitar tech and if we ever need anything worked on, just let him know. he did seem knowledgeable about guitars. this was at 9:30pm

It's friday night, and we are at the eagles club getting tuned up (the guitars, not us) when the drummer, jerry, shows up and says "you know that hippie guy from last night, he jumped his grandma's car on top of the highland park school!". there is a 45° corner in front of this school, and apparently he forgot to turn. at 100 mph. he hits the bank along the sidewalk in front of the school, and puts his grandma's ford explorer into low orbit. he was still 15ft off of the ground when he hit the school building 90ft away. (read the news article in my previous post). he was checked for a possible neck injury, then read his rights by the boys in blue. i'm sure he will get out of jail eventually.

I will try to get to some questions later, right now i have to go bowl.

yeah, i know.

I will write more tonight. Here are some things to entertain you 'till then.

This was nice, the first time my name was in the paper for something that didn't involve
handcuffs, court procedings, or both. We had a blast doing this, more later tonight.

Also, check this out...................

From the Lewistown news paper:

Vehicle soars nearly 90 feet before crash landing on school roof

by ANNETTE HAYDEN News-Argus staff writer

A bizarre scene greeted people traveling past Highland Park Elementary Friday morning, where they witnessed the aftermath of a rather spectacular car accident.
The scene covered one entire side of the school. Apparently, the vehicle was launched at the corner of 7th and Highland avenues, landed halfway down the school’s roof, rolled off and came to rest in a play area at the end of the building.
Thought to be traveling at an extremely high speed, the vehicle hit the corner and was launched from this hill.
“The vehicle left the road and became airborne, flew through tree branches and reached its point of impact on the school’s roof, 88 feet away,” said Assistant Police Chief Brad Doney, of Lewistown. “Branches were broken on the tree, with the highest broken at 15 feet off the ground. The point of impact on the roof is 11 feet, 8 inches. The vehicle then rolled and came to rest on the ground another 50 feet away.”
At the scene, heavy skid marks on the sidewalk and in a small hill marked the vehicle’s launch point. Broken tree branches littered a path on the lawn leading to the point of demolition in the school’s roof and wall. The vehicle, looking more like a crushed pop can, rested on its wheels in a playground beyond the building, amidst a pile of concrete rubble that the impact sent flying.
A citizen report of the accident was logged by police dispatch at 12:15 a.m. Friday. The three police officers on patrol responded to the scene, along with Lewistown Fire-Rescue and Central Montana Medical Center Ambulance Service.
“There was one vehicle involved, a white 1991 Ford Explorer,” said Doney. “The driver was a 21-year-old male and the only occupant. He was transported to the hospital.” Officers at the scene Friday morning said they believed the driver would be OK.
As of Friday afternoon the cause of the accident was still under investigation. Doney said the investigation would be completed by Monday and it was likely that charges would be filed against the driver, since it appeared that excessive speed and alcohol were involved in the crash. Doney told the News-Argus he could not release the name of the driver until formal charges were filed. A friend of the driver’s family identified him as Willie Gumeson. A phone call confirmed Gumeson was in acute care at CMMC on Friday.

-----------------------

The Dukes of Hazzard have nothing on this guy. I had a few minutes Saturday afternoon before setting up for the street dance so i went by and took pictures. I was standing across the street in someone's yard and i still couldn't get the whole flight path in one frame, so i had to run home and get my wide angle lens. This school is like 9 blocks from my house, and it turns out i met this guy a few hours before this happened. No, i was not involved, and yes, i will tell the whole story tonight.

New format

I think from now on i will post here on the main page. I'm also checking out moving this blog to typepad.com. They seem to have some really cool software and i will be able to put sound clips up for you to down load, mostly just from the Premonition shows, but who knows!

I will try to get to answering some questions this weekend. Premonition is playing both friday and saturday night, so i'm sure one of the nights that i get home at 3 in the morning i will be jacked up on coffee enough that i'll have time to write.

Hope everyone had a great 4th, mine was pretty calm, unlike the 2 days before it. 2 more weeks of being really busy, then i get some time off to go camping and fourwheelin'. Toddler is coming up from Missouri, and it happens to be the same week as the fair here. I'm sure we'll find some way to get in trouble.....
