Apparently, Kansas does have electricity. But they also have ticks. Lots of ticks. Nothing says "Welcome to Kansas" like waking up with a tick on your private parts. Other than that, it was a great weekend. I got to make fun of, i mean, i got to SEE family i've not seen for a while, and had a lot of fun trying to play bluegrass music. In another twenty years i think i'll have it down.
This weekend, Premonition is playing an all-school reunion out in Judith Gap. it should be fun, except for the part of getting home at 4 or 5 in the morning on sunday. other than that, i don't have any real plans for the 4th, i was going to go camping but i'm thinking i will stay home and try to decompress from the last two months of being busy all the time. Everyone have a great 4th of July.

It's 12:30 in the morning, so i guess this makes it officially July 4th. I've had a great weekend so far, no handcuffs, but i did have to go to the police station this afternoon to fill out a witness report. I was an innocent bystander, i swear.

Anyway, saturday night was a blast, we played to a crowd of about 150, and i only messed up every third song. Anyone that has heard me play knows that's quite an improvement. Made it home about 3:00am, didn't get up till 2:00 this afternoon. The old people around here are funny. Every time we start playing, they want us to play 50's and 60's music, but within an hour they are yelling "stop playing that slow country crap and play some rock and roll". I'm not kidding, this was an old lady with a walker, out on the dance floor, yelling for rock and roll.

Tonight, while talking to one of my neighbors about what to do in honor of the 4th of July, i mentioned that artillery shells make a nice, large, firework display in the sky, AND it's real hard to tell where they come from. Did i mention that i live 5 blocks from downtown? Inside the city limits is a PERFECT place to light fireworks, i think.

Time for a nap.
