i'm back.

and i actually feel great for the first time in years. nothing like a week of fishing everynight and camping away from phones and people to get things in perspective again. so what's next? well, we have a few weekends off from playing, which is good, as we still don't have our equipment back from carvin that we burned up at the relay for life, but it should be here in plenty of time for the lewistown raceway show on the 12th. and, i need to finish building the deck and do the landscaping around the pool i put in my already small back yard. the mustang still needs a new clutch, and the snow plow is still on my four wheeler, which means i have not been riding in the mountains yet this summer.

but life is grand and i'm really looking forward to working on the blugrass/country album i recorded with my two uncles in missouri, uncle howard and uncle bill. i recorded uncle howard playing and singing out on the carport at my parents on a calm night, the sound is great and i have a few seconds of crickets chirping to use in there somewhere. uncle bill came over the following weekend and sat in the living room with headphones on and did his parts. i kicked all the kids out of the house, which worked pretty good, except pop's and toddler found the basement door wasn't locked and snuck in for the last few songs. i'm going to add me playing bass, and maybe a little rythm guitar in a few spots, and maybe a few appearances from the rest of the premonition live band to give it that "modern rock" feel. just kidding about the "modern rock" thing, but i bet unk just spit coffee all over his monitor when he read that. anyways, the first mix of just them sounds great so it should have a great feel to it when we are done. which, as far as finished and released goes, that would probably be sometime in early '07, but fear not. i'm sure i will make a few tracks available through here, and i had to promise unk and unk (and my dad) i would send them the first final mix copies.

so as you can see, i have plenty to do, and i actually WANT to do all of it. i must be feeling half way tough enough to do it all, it's early in the morning, i'm drinking coffee, and listening to the new york dolls. sheesh.

i promise to catch up on the emails i'm behind on and maybe answer a few questions in the next few days.

The bluegrass stuff sounds fun, have you played on any other recordings?

Oh fear the hearts of men are failing.
These are latter days we know.
The Great Depression now is spreading.
God's word declared it would be so

I'm going where there's no depression.
To a better land that's free from care.
I'll leave this world of toil and trouble.
My home's in heaven
I'm going there.
